This collection covers several vicinities in and around the Tukituki river valley including Te Mata, Maraetotara, Poukawa, Patangata and Otane. In time some of these places may gain pages of their own, especially Maraetotara with its distinctive limestone "Karst" topography. Some of these areas, particularly the lower Tukituki Valley and the slopes of Te Mata Peak, are being extensively modified by subdivisions for affleunt "lifestyle" developments. Ocean Beach has been given its own page due to the current controversy over proposed residential development. |
