A brief list at this stage, however, most of my favorite sites are weather related:

NZ Metservice www.metservice.co.nz tells you what the weather is might do but the weather site maintained by Victoria University www.metvuw.com shows you what its going to do and also includes pictures of interesting (and frequently spectacular) weather conditions submitted by the site's users. Metvuw is very highly recommended but the best way to become a weather guru is to use them both together.

Another one if you like weather is the UK Cloud Appreciation Society www.cloudappreciationsociety.org
